The Change We Need?

The Judeao-Christian values that were the founding fathers basis in establishing this nation are in danger of being stripped away from our society through "lack of knowledge"Hosea 4:6. Knowledge, not in the intellectual sense, but in the biblical sense. In the last 50 years, we have seen intellectual knowledge increase at an astronomical rate. From nuclear energy, to landing a man on the moon, to communications satellites, to the internet. Mankind has more knowledge available today than ever before. Yet, biblical knowledge has decreased at a rate never dreamed of by the brave men who founded and established the government of these United States of America. Most Americans today are uninformed about the rich spiritual heritage of our founding fathers and how the tenets of their faith in Jesus Christ were used to form our laws, our government and our society.

As the historic date of the Barack Obama presidency looms, there will be many cheering, crying and many with prayerful thoughts of this historic moment in our country’s history. As an American, I too am so proud of what has happened in our country. For with the election of Mr. Obama, it’s sends a message to every boy and girl in our country, yes you can!

But after the glare of this historic moment wears away and the reality of the man whom has been elected to the highest office in the land is realized, then what. On Barack Obama’s website the slogan is, "The Change We Need". Has anyone seriously looked at the changes that Mr. Obama wants to make in our country? First I must declare what the Word of God say’s about leadership.

Barack’s Declares The Change We Need:

Barack Obama in the United States Senate: Every two years the Human Rights Campaign, the largest national gay and lesbian organization, issues a scorecard for members of the Senate based on their sponsorship and voting on key issues of importance to gay and lesbian citizens. Barack Obama scored 89 out of 100% in the 2006 scorecard.

Barack Obama’s record on abortion: He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion,a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called "too close to infanticide." Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed that he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" because of a crisis pregnancy hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life.

Employment Non-Discrimination: Barack Obama supports the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and believes it should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – Gays in the Military: Barack Obama believes we need to repeal the "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell" policy and allow gays and lesbians to serve openly in the military.

Gay & Lesbian Adoption: Barack Obama believes gays and lesbians should have the same rights to adopt children as heterosexuals.

Barack Obama and Gay Marriage/ Civil Unions: Although Barack Obama has said that he supports civil unions, he is against gay marriage. In an interview with the Chicago Daily Tribune, Obama said, "I’m a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. (NLT)

This simply states that regardless who the authority is, God is the one that has allowed them to be in that position of authority. Now that begs the question, why would God allow some of histories most notorious leaders to have been placed in authority; Hitler, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein, Pol Pot, Kim Jung, to name a few. The answer is this, because God wants to be glorifired on earth, by and through His people. See no matter how bad things may seem, the Creator of Heaven and earth is sovereign. The bible say’s all power is in His hands.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. (NLT)

2 Chronicles 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. (NLT)

The changes that Barack Obama wants for our country are not biblically correct, regardless of his professing of being a Christian or not. We need to watch and pray for the leader God has allowed to be elected over our country. We can still make a difference, remember the scriptures concerning Joseph in Egypt, and Daniel and the three Hebrew boys in Nebuchadnezzar’s court. These were godly men of faith who in the face of an ungodly ruler would not renounce the truth of the word of God. And because of that changed nations. If we do not pray the new president he will have no restraints on his agenda to change America. He is a wolf in sheep clothing. The bible speaks to us be watchful for men that: 2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away!

I invite all those that agree or disagree to comment. My intent is to let you know, What’s Really going On!
